I first became interested in the SOROBAN(Abacus) at age 8 while I was attending juku(a kind of after school that is popular in Japan).
I was surprised how easy it was to learn and how quickly and accurately I could solve mathematical problems on the SOROBAN.
My fingers flew across the beads and I could get the correct answer at lightning speed.
It was great fun and I was hooked. All through my school years I continued practicing with the SOROBAN and after graduation I decided to take the test to get an Expert Degree certification.

In the following years I also studied English and sharpened my communication skills through yearly business trips to New Zealand.
Now I want to combine my English communication ability with my love of the SOROBAN to offer classes to gaijin(foreigners) and those Japanese who would like to learn the wonder of the SOROBAN in a cross-cultural environment.

I hope you’ll join us.
